TV is, essentially, a text editor. Its many functions, not least the
enormously powerful macroing-facilities, allow practically any edit to be
performed in a minimum of time. It is derived from TV at DEC VAX/VMS
systems, which in turn came from yet another editor: TECO.

TV has its own programming-language incorporated, allowing automation of
all text-based jobs. Although it takes some getting used to, TV is a
highly powerful tool that no user should be without!
